Sarpaneva Casserole

Timo Sarpaneva was inspired by his grandfather, who worked as a blacksmith, to design this cast iron pot. The wooden handle can be used to lift the entire pot, or just the lid. Suitable for gas and induction stove tops, and in the oven (sans wooden handle).

Timo Sarpaneva's mastery of materials includes cast iron, glass, porcelain and textiles. This casserole is such an icon of Finnish design was once featured on a postage stamp.
