Unikko Pillow - Dark Green
Soldout
SKU: 074193-613
$58.00

A young Maija Isola designed this abstracted pattern of poppies in 1964 after being told that Marimekko would never produce a floral print. Over many decades and countless color combinations, Unikko remains Marimekko’s most enduring pattern. The cover includes a concealed zipper for easy removal and laundering. Made in Estonia.

Please note: Image placement may differ from pillow pictured, as each is cut individually from the fabric.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.
