Good Design Since 2008
This special pencil has stolen the hearts of creative people ever since it was first manufactured in the 1930s. Award-winning authors, composers and artists have favored the Blackwing 602 with its firm graphite. It developed a cult-like following after falling out of production in the 1990s, leading some fans to pay up to $40 per pencil for rare backstock. Lucky for everyone, Palomino pencil company revived the design in 2010 using California incense cedar and Japanese graphite.
The Blackwing 602 pencil is engraved with the motto "half the pressure, twice the speed" and it's true! Premium Japanese graphite is combined with clay and wax for exceptional smoothness. The distinctive rectangular eraser is replaceable, so you can keep sharpening and creating all the way down to a stub! Also available in the soft-graphite matte black pencil or the balanced-graphite pearl white pencil. Made in Japan.
