A fun, graphic tote for the market, library and more. Keep it folded in your handbag to use as an extra shopping bag. Featuring Maija Louekari's playful Siirtolapuutarha (city garden) pattern. We love that these bags are machine-washable, in case any of your market goods should spill. Fabric is printed in Helsinki and bag is made in Estonia.

Please note: bags are sewn using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary. Each item is unique.

Founded in 1951 by visionary Finnish textile designer Armi Raitia and her husband, Viljo, Marimekko grew from a small textile-printing firm into an international phenomenon. From its beginnings as a textile design company, Marimekko (meaning “Mary’s dress”) branched out into everything from toys to dinnerware to architecture, becoming something of a lifestyle brand in the 1960s and 70s. The company’s outstanding designers revolutionized modern printed fabrics and fashion. Today the company continues to collaborate with young artists, encouraging experimentation. The result is spirited, non-traditional patterns and vivid colors.

  • Pattern Designer: Maija Louekari for Marimekko
  • Country of Design: Finland
  • Materials: 100% organic cotton
